 Indian Mountain Initiative was born out of the collective efforts of the people interested in creating a forum for 11 Indian Mountain States which could make a difference in perception of these states at national level and make significant improvement in approach towards planning and development.

In 2014 this movement has evolved and it was felt that a deidicated organisation would be needed to support it. As per rules of registering the organisations in India, it has been registered as Integrated Mountain Initiative and is being operated from New Delhi.

R S Tolia

Late Dr. R.S. Tolia, Ph.D., was former Chief Secretary ( 2003-05 ) and Chief Information Commissioner ( 2005-10) of Uttarakhand. He also served in various voluntary positions after retirement and devoted his time for Mountain Development Agenda.
